The functional longest bike measured Fifty Four (54) feet in length.
The world record of the ‘longest bridge in the world’ has been achieved by Danyang–Kunshan Grand Bridge from Jiangsu, China.
The total length of the bridge is 164.8 kilometers (102.4 mi) and lies on the long viaduct on the Beijing–Shanghai High-Speed Railway line. Almost the entire length of the Danyang–Kunshan Grand Bridge is of the viaduct style of construction. The bridge is located on the rail line between Shanghai and Nanjing in East China’s Jiangsu province. The total cost of building the bridge was $ 8.5 billion and was completed in 2011.
The World Record of ‘largest solar plant’ has been achieved by Shams from Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.
The world’s largest solar plant has been established near Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. One facility and has an area of about 2.5 square kilometers. This solar plant is a joint venture of the organization Masdar, a French oil firm Total, Abengoa Solar and the Government of the United Arab Emirates. The facility expands over an area which can cover 285 football fields and can satisfy the energy requirements of more than 20,000 households. It can produce Hundred Megawatts of Electricity when fully functional. The total cost of the project is $60 million.
The world record of the ‘largest silver ring’ has been achieved by Amin and Company from Lahore, Pakistan.
The silver ring weighs 71.680 kg (158.03 lbs) and has an inner diameter of 85 cm (2 ft 9 in). The purity of the silver used in making the ring is reported to be 97.83 percent. The silver which was used to make the ring was worth a value of $ 40,000 at the time of making the ring. Ring was exhibited in a ceremony on August 18, 2010.
The World Record ‘biggest pencil mosaic (multiple size pencil)’ has been achieved by S. R. Global School of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India.
The mosaic has created the logo of ‘Save Girl Child Campaign’ using 24,600 pencils of various sizes. Pencil mosaic measured Two Hundred Twenty Five (225) Square Foot. Pencil Mosaic was made by the students and faculty members of the school.
The World record of ‘largest religious gathering of people at a single location’ has been achieved by Kumbh Mela of Allahabad Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Kumbh Mela held in Allahabad from 14th Jan 2013; to 10th Mar 2013; holds the record for the Worlld’s Largest Religious gathering. The number of people attending the Kumbh Mela in the year 2013 is more than 80 million. Kumbh Mela is a festival involving mass Hindu pilgrimage. It is held every third year in four different cities in India namely Ujjain, Nashik, Allahabad and Haridwar on a rotational basis. Thus, each of the above mentioned cities gets a chance to host the Kumbh Mela every twelve years. The Kumbh Mela of year 2013 is being held in Allahabad (Prayag) at the confluence of Ganges, Yamuna and the invisible Saraswati rivers. All the pilgrims who visit the Kumbh Mela take a holy dip in the confluence. The largest single gathering on one day was registered on 10th Feb. 2013 when a reported 30 million people were present on the banks of the confluence.
The World Record of ‘biggest coffee cup mosaic’ has been achieved by DFS Hawaii at DFS Galleria Waikiki in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA.
On Aug 10, 1012; during an event the mosaic was made by Five Thousand Six Hundred Forty Two (5,642) cups of coffee with 10 different shades depicting the face of Elvis Presley measuring 4.9 m x 7.6 m (16 feet wide, 25 feet long).
The World Record of wearing ‘longest wedding dress’ has been achieved by Ms. Emma Dumitrescu (17 years) from Bucharest, Romania.
On March 21, 2012; Romanian model, Emma Dumitrescu created the world record of wearing the longest wedding dress in the world. The length of the dress was 2.98 kilometres. It was designed by Andree Salon fashion house, a local designer. Emma took a ride in a hot air balloon to show the entire length of the wedding dress. The cost of the material involved in making this dress was about $8000.
The World Record of ‘longest time to walk in space by a female’ has been achieved by Sunita Williams, USA.
NASA Astronaut, Sunita Williams has set the world record for a woman to walk in space for the longest duration on July 14, 2012. Sunita set the record while she and her colleague Japan’s Akihiko Hoshide fixed the electric supply arrangements of the international space centre. Sunita spent a total of 44 hours, 2 minutes stroll in space.
