The World Record of ‘largest underwater wedding’ has been achieved by Ewa Staronska and Pawel Burkowski from Jaworzno, Poland.

On August 27, 2011; Three Hundred Three (303) divers attended the marriage ceremony of Ewa Staronska and Pawel Burkowski at the Koparki Diving Base. The wedding was also preceded by priest and licensed frogman. The wedding ceremony was organised by Orka Group Ltd.

Longest Bridge made out of Plastic Bottles

The World Record of ‘longest bridge made out of plastic bottles’ has been achieved by the City of Ely, United Kingdom (UK).

The total length of the bridge was 36 meters (118.10 feet) and was built on river Ouse. The total number of bottles used in the construction of the bridge were Fourteen Thousand One Hundred (14100). They were all plastic milk bottles and were done with the co-operation of St Mary’s Primary School, Ely, the Isle of Ely Explorers at Sutton Gault and Witchford’s Rackham Primary School. The mayor of the city Ron Bradney was the first to cross the bridge. This bridge was a temporary structure and was created in order to create awareness about the need to recycle on the Annual Classic Regatta function of the city in 2008.

The World Record of ‘longest string of bottle caps’ has been achieved by the students of Ambrosoli Interntational School from Kisementi, Kabalagala, Ethiopia.

In the record breaking fest on April 3, 2012, total number of caps used in making the chain were Thirty Thousand Six Hundred Six (30606). The record was created by a team of four boys from the school namely Vianney D’Aboville, Emmett Parkerson, Oliver Stewart and Toby Smith. These boys had been collecting such bottle caps from the age of nine. The record breaking bottle caps were used from the bottle’s of the companies Fat Boyz, Just Kickin and Endiro Coffee.

Largest Spoon

The World Record of ‘largest spoon’ in the world has been achieved by the Centrul Cultural from Mioveni, Romaia.

As on June 7, 2013; the length of the spoon is 17.79 meters (58 feet, 4.39 inches) and is 1.50 meters (4 feet, 11 inches) at the widest point. The spoon is actually a giant replica of the traditional Romanian Spoon. The largest wooden spoon has been made by the Centrul Cultural; a Cultural Activities Center of Mioveni.

Largest Origami Mosaic

The World Record ‘largest origami’ in the world has been achieved by Associação a Casa do Caminho in association with Realizar from Leça da Palmeira, Matosinhos, Portugal.

The record breaking mosaic with the area of 451.89 square meters was created in the Boa Nova secondary school of Leça da Palmeira; to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Casa do Caminho. The mosaic had more than 54,000 origami houses and took more than 200 volunteers to complete. The organization Casa do Caminho is a Not for Profit organization which works in the area of at-risk youth.

The World Record of ‘largest library’ in the world has been achieved by the British Library from London, UK (United Kingdom).

British Library is also the national library of the United Kingdom. The total number of books/informational items in this library is 170000000 (One Hundred Seventy Million). The total number of visitors in this library is about 1.75 Million per year. The library adds about 3 Million information items to its collection every year. The total staff of the library is about 2000. The library was established on July 1, 1973 following the British Library Act of 1972.

The World Record of ‘largest domino structure’ in the world has been achieved by the Yspertal Domino Team from Yspertal, Melk, Austria.

On November 22, 2013; at the HLUW Yspertal High School in Y spertal, largest domino structure with the total height of 6.026 meters (19 feet, 9.24 inches) was created. The total number of dominos used to create this record breaking structure was 11,465. A team of 44 members was involved to make the structure. All the team members were the students of the HLUW Yspertal High School.

The World Record of ‘longest ribbon cutting event’ has been achieved collectively by the people of New Jersey from New Jersey, USA.

On May 27, 2013; people of the state of New Jersey at the Jersey shore at Seaside Heights, New Jersey broke the record. The total length of the world record breaking ribbon was measured to be 5.51 miles (8.87 km). The cutting was ceremoniously done by Governor Chris Christie and First Lady Mary Pat Christie. The event was organized to mark the unofficial beginning of summer and to create a feeling of strength after being hit by the devastating storm ‘Sandy’ in the state of New Jersey.

Most Lighted Candles on a Cake

The World Record of the ‘most number of lighted candles on a cake’ has been achieved by the disciples of the Spiritual Guru Sri Chinmoy from New York City, USA.

The size of the cake was 52 feet by 17 feet. The total number of candles adorning the cake was Forty Eight Thousand Five Hundred Twenty Three (48,523). All the candles used on the birthday cake were colorful. This cake was made on 27th August, 2008 in memory of the Spiritual Guru in the year following his demise in 2008. The venue of the event was the asphalt driveway of the group’s meditation arena, which is called Aspiration –Ground by the devotees in New York City.

World’s Tallest Cookie Tower

The World Record of ‘largest cookie tower’ has been achieved by the Woodrush High School of Wythal, Worcesterchire, UK.

The record was created by the joint efforts of the students and staff of the school. The height of the tower was 1.89 meters and was made using a total of (Eleven Thousand Five Hundred) 11,500 cookies. The cookies that were used to make the tower were donated by Tesco. The record was set to highlight the importance of the principles of maths, science and engineering behind the tower.
