The world record of ‘longest journey by car by a differently abled person in a single country’ has been achieved by Mr. Laxmikant Shirke from Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, India.
Till May 17, 2014; Mr. Shirke has travelled more than 25000 km (15534 miles) in 18 months by his modified car. Mr. Shirke had lost one hand and one leg in accident. Winner of Monsoon car rally; Mr. Shirke performs all his daily work without prosthesis.
Previous World Record:
The world record of ‘longest journey by car by differently abled person’ in a single country was achieved by Mr. Xavier Stefan from Sydney, Australia. Mr. Stefan has travelled more than 20000 km (12427 miles) by car.
